The Anti-Modern G-Wagon: A Clean Japanese-Spec G320 for Sale

A Clean Japanese-Spec G320 on Consignment

There comes a time when simplicity and elegance matter more than raw speed. If that’s where you are, we have a very special G320 for sale: an incredibly clean, Japanese-spec V6 G-Wagon on consignment at our shop. It’s the anti-modern G, analog, robust, cheap to run, and genuinely lovely to drive.

Why this G320 for sale is the smart entry to the G-Wagon world

This late-’90s G320 is an early W463 powered by the M112 V6 with a 5-speed electronically shifted automatic. The M112 is essentially the M113 V8 with two cylinders lopped off: lightweight, efficient and easy to maintain. Because the 320 designation appeared across the E320, C320 and more from 1998 on, parts are plentiful and cheap. That combination makes this the most sensible G320 for sale you’ll find as a first G-Wagon.

Analog by design

Being an early 460-era truck, there are no COMAND screens, no plastic computers, none of that jazz. What you get instead is rich and tactile:

  • Real lacquered wood trim with a beautiful sheen (a couple of minor center-console cracks, easily re-lacquered).
  • Cloth seats in phenomenal shape, surprisingly nice on hot days, with no burned legs like you get on leather.
  • Working AC that blows genuinely cold, a working sunroof, original tail lights and three diff locks.
  • A fun party trick: turn the key and it greets you in Japanese.

Mechanically sorted and rust-free

We went through this truck mechanically and it needs nothing. It received a fresh transmission in our shop, a low-mileage (around 30k) takeout from another G320, after the original was run low on fluid. Before it leaves, it gets fully serviced: diffs, engine oil, everything topped off. The paint quality on these early Japanese trucks is excellent, and this one is clean with no rust. The one “beauty mark,” a cracked bumper end, we’ll repair before delivery, and it won’t touch the Carfax.

A rare jump-seat option

This truck carries the rare rear jump-seat option, great for kids (basketball players, maybe sit this one out). These went out of production long ago and trucks equipped with them now trade for serious money, so it’s a genuinely special feature.

The numbers

  • Engine: M112 3.2L V6, 5-speed automatic
  • Mileage: around 154,000 km (about 90,000 miles)
  • Condition: clean, no rust, mechanically sorted, recent transmission
  • Status: on consignment, ready to drive at highway speeds all day

Who is this G320 for?

It’s for the buyer who loves the old-school analog feel: the richness of wood, cold AC, and a simple, commanding view of the road. No frills, but a deeply rich driving experience. We’d love to see it go to a home that will care for it for years.
